Sippy Media Gateway

The Sippy Media Gateway has had extensive rework, bringing clients a high performance, scalable media relay solution. The Sippy Media Gateway bundles the latest version of rtpproxy v2, which is an open-source project developed by Sippy Software, Inc.

Each Sippy Media Node has a build in web application for viewing throughput & performance date.

Media repacketization support is been implemented. This feature can be used to address interoperability with vendors that require larger frame sizes. It can also significantly reduces bandwidth usage between systems.

TIB Reporting Module for Turkish Regulatory Compliance

In response to the new communication regulations imposed by the Turkish government (BTK), Sippy has partnered with its long time friends and Sippy collaborators Eurotel, to offer a TIB Reporting module specific for the Sippy Softswitch. This module has been developed by Eurotel and is available for purchase either directly from Eurotel, or from Sippy Software, Inc.

The module allows VoIP operators to meet or exceed the Turkish regulatory requirements, and continue running their business whilst complying to Turkish telecommunications and technology standards.

Session Tracker as default

The new Session Tracker is enabled by default for all systems. This new session tracker offers superior performance in terms of CPS handling and efficient hardware usage, allowing clients to push higher call volumes with less powerful hardware.

The new Session Tracker module was an opt-in feature in the previous release, and has now been promoted to the default.

The Session tracker includes a new advanced feature, which allows system integrators to get access to CDRs before they are written to the Sippy database. This feature is suitable for advanced systems integrators who want to have a close to real-time stream of CDRs.

New Tariff Daemon

The Tariff module has has been refactored and updated, bringing the following improvements; Startup time is nearly instant (old version could take minutes to load large tariff sheets) Memory consumption has been reduced Improved call rating performance The new tariff daemon is the default in version 4.3 Do Not Call Lists (DNCL)

DNCL is a new module, that is available in a beta capacity. This module is useful for staying in compliance with national do not call registries. DNCL lists can now be loaded via the web interface, and DNCL can be enabled on a per account basis on the Account screen. The DNCL feature is useful for NANPA territories, and will be updated for other territories.

New Info panel on Account page

A new account summary panel has been added, offering at a glance information, such as account creation date, balance, and first use.

External Database

Running the switch database on a dedicated external host is now a supported configuration option available for enterprise clients. Hot-Standby Failover Improvements

The hot-standby failover handling has been refactored offering easier management & reliability.

Monitoring Graphs

Graphs can zoom to two minute resolution allowing for better inspection of system performance. Follow-Me

The Follow-Me feature has had several improvements and bug fixes related to DID forwarding.

Operating System

Sippy Software utilizes a customized version of FreeBSD. The base FreeBSD system has been updated to FreeBSD 10.1 which includes all recent SSL related security fixes delivering enhanced stability and security for your business.

IVR Based Test Route

Each system now runs an internal IVR that can be used for call testing purposes. To use this features operators must create a new vendor connection as follows:

1. Create a Vendor Connection with the CLD translation rule: s/^/ssptest/ and Destination: <environment_ip>:5062

   where <environment_ip> is the main IP address of the environment. For example: “1.1.1.1:5062” 2. Add the new test Vendor Connection to the appropriate Routing Group. 3. Place a call from an account that has the routing group assigned.

   Tariff and Vendor specific billing precision

   Tariff and Vendor billing precision can now be configured and rounded between 0 and 20 decimal points. Precision can be configured on Tariff and Vendor Connection pages. This feature allows for greater billing accuracy and control across multiple platforms, making it easier to reconcile billing with vendors who use different levels of precision with their accounting.
